Vintage

This Thursday throw back is very different and special. Going back to a shoot, at the start of 2017, with photographer Josh Miller and his vintage film cameras.

Photographer Josh Miller is well known for his beautiful landscape photography. Traveling the world to get the perfect shot for his photography business. Recently I had the chance to work with this amazing photographer. Gaining some knowledge I will forever cherish, as well as a friendship.

My session with Josh was fascinating. He used two vintage cameras, Nikon FM and Nikon FM10. With film(s): substantial Delta 400pro and Fujifilm necessarily Xtra 400. It was my first time working with a film camera and I learned some interesting techniques about modeling for them.

1. Models who worked with these particular cameras when they were first released are bad ass! Any with candid shots are Goddesses.

2. You must remain very VERY still during the process. Pick a pose you are comfortable with. Not necessarily a comfortable pose, but something you can hold for a substantial amount of time.

3. These cameras are extremely fragile. We had the unfortunate event of dropping the camera a few inches from the ground, causing double exposure for the rest of the session. However not a bad "accidental result". The camera is also okay. The film just rotated in position in camera.

4. Like any camera, overcast is your best friend. We were fortunate to have the best soft box created the day of our session. Clearly the results can speak for themselves.

This shoot was very fun! If you ever have the chance to work with a photographer with stunning skills, I recommend you jump for it. If you would like to see more from this session. Check out my Facebook fan page. Cheers!
